About ME

I was born in Vermont, to two parents suffering from traumatic PTSD after the death of their first child. This has impacted my life in a number of ways.  I wrote about my childhood a bit here, and here. They separated when I was three and my childhood was spent going back and forth between two people with full and complicated lives. 

As a kid I also learned about adaptability and resilience through witnessing deep grief but also through constant change - we moved  more than 20 times before I turned 16 years old.  

My main activity during those years was quietly observing many people and MANY personalities. Perception was a very valuable skill to have then, and it has continued to be something I rely on. I have learned to trust what I feel more than 'what may appear to be true'. 

In 2024 I moved from Boston to Los Angeles via an epic roadtrip with my husband and our pets. We now live in Echo Park with our dog, Auggie and our cats, Betty and Fern.   i can be found walking around looking at LA's old buildings and giant plants, gardening on my deck, watching documentaries, making weird art, and reading reference books.
